Sudan has finished almost technical preparation prior to commence scheduled electricity interconnection project between Sudan and Egypt. Director of Sudanese Electricity Transmission Company announced.
“The electric towers were implemented in a percentage of 96%” engineer Hassan Omer al-Sheikh stressed.
He expected the completion of the project by the end of this year. Adding the Egyptian side is now embarking on technical work and installation of the towers.
Al-Sheik noted that the transmittable capacity of the project reaches 300 megawatts and might rise to 3000 megawatts in the future.
Electricity linkages between the two countries enable them to benefit form surplus power a matter which enhances economic exchange in field of power.
