Cyril Sartor, Special Assistant to the US President for African Affairs, called on the Sudanese government to respect the right of citizens to express themselves peacefully.
Sartor and the Assistant to the President of the Republic, Faisal Hassan Ibrahim, discussed yesterday, Monday at the presidential palace in Khartoum, the second phase of the Sudan-US dialogue process.
Faisal underscored the commitment to dialogue with Washington on issues of common interest.
Sartor, said in a press release at the end of the meeting “I had a fruitful and constructive meeting with the Assistant to the President of the Republic and I came to continue the dialogue between the two parties and put it on the right track, leading to the immediate removal of the name of Sudan from states supporting terrorism “. Adding: “With more patience, the government will be able to find a political solution and no external solution will be imposed on Sudan”.
